Real-time Computer Generated Animation - Installation

Demonstration is 3D real-time animation depicitng a tape recorder and a cartoon-like hand that repeatedly enters the frame in slightly different configurations each time the work runs. The hand, animated by hand-tracked motion capture, shifts between affectations—at times overly theatrical or performative, at others tentative or restrained. The hand repeatedly turns on/off a tape recorder. It plays fragments of overheard conversations from spaces such as pubs (Wetherspoons), buses, trains, vernissages, streets. The sounds and gestures repeat, running in real-time, with different combinations of animation and audio each time.
