Faces (2017)
Responsive Installation

Faces is an installation which focuses on the 3D visualization of sound. The work is composed of over 300 rotating face models that get distorted in real-time based on the processing of sound from a microphone. The 3D mesh of each face is  generated and textured from personally going through Google images, and stock photos to create a collection or database of faces. From this process, themes of appropriation and re-usage arise. Faces, creates an awareness of the environment in which participation is forced upon viewers, as every sound they make, intentional or not, is processed and visualized on screen.

Shown at Gallerie MAI during Nuit Blanche Montreal (Art Matters 2017). Three 52” screens.
